Become a Makerspace Scholar!
We are blessed to offer two types of scholarships. These scholarships provide people with free access and some limited materials or controlled access with specific training by the Hedron Makerspace staff. These scholarships are intended to support entrepreneurs, artists and aspiring professionals produce innovation and creativity in society.
This scholarship is suited for an artist or maker to build something amazing and cool. 1 month of 7 days-a-week access to both the metal shop and digital fab office. This would include a safety course, two tool certification courses and a $50 stipend for raw materials.
3D Printing scholarship
3 months of digital fab office access for 2 days of your choosing per week. 3D printer certification course included and a $60 budget for materials is included. Access to experienced 3D printing mentors will be provided.
How to apply
Write a 1 page essay answering the following questions and submit/email your response to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: “Scholarship application” : Give us a clear idea of what you’d like to accomplish with your time as a scholar. How would you divide your time in the makerspace? What tool(s) would you use to make? What would you make? What experience do you have in a metal shop? What experience do you have with 3D printers, design, building or prototyping?
